Samantha Morais has a BSc Hons in Science and Technology Studies from York University, Canada (June 2010) and obtained a Master of Science in Epidemiology from FMUP (December 2013) with the thesis “Dealing with missing data: an application in the study of family history of hypertension”. She was awarded a research fellowship within the project “Determinants of gastric and esophageal cancers incidence in the north of Portugal” funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (PTDC/SAU-EPI/122460/2010). In fall of 2014, she enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Public Health (FMUP) with the project entitled “Risk and survival of gastric cancer related second primary tumours: a competing risks framework” (SFRH/BD/102585/2014). She is a member of the Non Communicable Diseases Epidemiology research group (EPIUnit ISPUP).
